Takoma Park Player Gains Pep in His Step after Scratch-Off Win

Claims $50,000 top prize on Cash Craze Doubler game
A loyal scratch-off player experienced a super-sized dose of Lottery luck that was so invigorating he walked across a room without needing his cane. The Montgomery County grocery store clerk won a $50,000 top prize on the Cash Craze Doubler scratch-off.
The 68-year-old purchased his winning instant ticket at T.J. Beer, Wine & Liquor in Takoma Park. The scratch-off fan decided to play a game other than his favorite scratch-off, Lucky 7s, and bought a few Cash Craze Doublers.
The Takoma Park resident couldn’t believe his eyes as he scratched off his instant ticket and found several matches. “I was very happy, but I kept cool,” the lucky man said. He normally walks with a cane, but chucked it and bopped all the way across the room! The happy player has only shared the news of his win with family members. His wife of 19 years was also very happy to learn of their good fortune and his plans for the prize — buying a townhouse for them!
T.J. Beer, Wine & Liquor located at 7669 New Hampshire Avenue also benefits from his Lottery luck. The Montgomery County retailer earns a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $50,000 top-prize scratch-off in the $5 game.
