A Racetrax duo calling themselves “The Brain” and “The Financier” just pulled off a winning caper that produced a $10,686.60 win. The Prince George’s County pair combined strategy — placing a Superfecta Wheel bet — and lucky timing to pocket a longshot purse.
The grocery manager and bus driver played the Lottery’s virtual horseracing game individually for about three years until meetups at the same Racetrax spots led to the partnership. For the last year, “The Financier” has paid for wagers while “The Brain” set his mind toward coming up with the perfect plan for a big win.
The pair combined high probability horses with several longshots in a Superfecta Wheel bet spanning multiple races. For their winning bet at Hampton Mall in Capitol Heights, the pair selected the No. 1 or 2 horse to finish in first place and the 10, 11 and 12 horses for second, third and fourth place finishes in any order.
