This isn’t his first winner rodeo, “Mr. O” of Baltimore told Maryland Lottery officials after they welcomed him into the Winner’s Circle at Lottery headquarters. In fact, this makes the fifth time “Mr. O” is celebrating a Lottery win of $10,000 or more!
The lucky 54-year-old, who primarily plays Racetrax, selected the $5 LOTERIA Grande scratch-off as his game of choice one day on much more than a whim. He felt so strongly about playing the game that he bought 18 of them! A few instant tickets in the batch delivered small prizes and one concealed his $50,000 top prize.
The roofing company owner shared the story of his big win, saying he bought his scratch-offs at Dolfield Convenience Store located at 3611 Dolfield Avenue in Baltimore. He frequently plays Lottery games at this retailer, the winner said. It wasn’t until he got home that he started scratching off his pile of instant tickets. After revealing a $50,000 winner, he triple- and quadruple-checked the instant ticket to make sure that he was seeing it correctly.
“I just felt a sense of elation,” said “Mr. “O” of his new win. So far, he has only shared the news of his good fortune with his wife of 19 years. Her response was to happily shout, “We are rich!”
