Birth Dates Give Lucky Grandma Two Top-Prize Bonus Match 5 Wins

Baltimore County resident claims $100,000 in prizes
Did you hear the celebration taking place in Randallstown? A lucky player scored two $50,000 top-prize wins in the Aug. 20 Bonus Match 5 drawing.
The 67-year-old plays Maryland Lottery games frequently and found her $100,000 fortune with tickets purchased at Pantry 1 Food Mart & Deli in Randallstown and Windsor Park Liquors in Windsor Mill.
This Randallstown grandmother said she enjoys playing all of the Lottery’s games. She tried her luck with one ticket for the Aug. 19 and 20 Bonus Match 5 drawing and a second ticket for the Aug. 20 and 21 drawings. Both tickets carried the same three lines of numbers. The loyal player said she always uses the birth dates of her grandchildren for game numbers and adds a “21” to symbolize the age she hopes her beloved grandchildren will reach.
The next day, while watching television, the grandma saw the winning Bonus Match 5 numbers scroll across the screen. She quickly went to the Lottery website to check her tickets against the winning numbers.
“Let me get my glasses,” the lucky lady recalls saying. She absolutely could not believe her eyes! Immediately after celebrating, the Baltimore County resident called her daughter to share her fantastic news. The daughter quickly offered to bring her jubilant mom to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim her prize. This grateful grandma said she plans to use her winnings to make some needed home improvements.
