Edgewood Man Gets a Lucky Lottery Win off $1 Wager

Claims $50,000 top prize on Bonus Match 5 ticket
A Harford County resident is celebrating the luckiest of Maryland Lottery Bonus Match 5 wins. Thanks to a last-second decision, the Edgewood resident landed a $50,000 top-prize win.
The 56-year-old visited Royal Farms #065, which is located at 630 Edgewood Road in Edgewood. He put $20 into the Lottery vending machine and bought $19 worth of tickets. Then, he decided to try his luck one last time. The winner used the last $1 from his $20 to buy a Bonus Match 5 quick-pick ticket for the Oct. 26 drawing. The rest is history.
When asked of his plans for his winnings, the lucky player said that he plans to use it to install new windows on his home and make other home improvements.
Royal Farms will also benefit from its lucky sale. The Lottery retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling a top-prize winning Bonus Match 5 ticket. This top-prize winning Bonus Match 5 ticket was the 26th sold this year.
