Lucky Numbers Give Dundalk Racetrax Fan an Evening Win

Claims $17,221 prize on Trifecta Box bet
A Baltimore County woman took home more than memories from her gathering with friends at a nearby bar. She was enjoying food, drinks and playing Racetrax, her favorite Lottery game, when Lottery luck served up a $17,221 prize.
The 58-year-old was at the Full House Saloon in Baltimore when she placed a Trifecta Box bet for one race using the numbers 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12.  This type of bet requires three of the horses to finish in first, second and third place in any order.
The lucky Dundalk resident hoped her horses would cross the finish line together, in the correct order, and they did! However, the Racetrax fan missed the race because she had already left Full House Saloon to go home. She did check results of her game after arriving home. To her surprise, the message on the Maryland Lottery app showed she won $17,221!
“I have a strategy, you know,” she told Lottery officials after claiming the prize, “but I’m not going to reveal my secret.”
The retired employee from a Johns Hopkins research department shared the exciting news of her win with her son and grandson. She said she plans to pay bills with her winnings and play more Racetrax games.
The Lottery also rewards the Full Moon Saloon for its role in selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more. The Baltimore County business, which is located at 2311 Sparrows Point Road in Baltimore, earned a $172.21 bonus from the Lottery.
